CAVITY 401
This project proposes a permeable and flexible spatial configuration inspired by constructivist and experiential learning theories. Instead of focusing on direct knowledge transmission, the design encourages learning through interaction, exploration, and spontaneous encounters.
The architectural language is defined by an organic shell structure that follows the natural flow of the topography. This shell creates layered indoor and outdoor encounter spaces where different age groups can gather, interact, and learn together.
Where the shell touches the ground it forms spaces for social interaction, while its openings allow natural light and circulation across the roof surface. This continuity between interior and exterior strengthens the connection between users and the environment.
The project name “Kovuk” symbolizes wisdom and layered structure. Similar to a kavuk that surrounds and defines identity, the architectural shell embraces and guides users, transforming space into an interactive learning environment.
Project Description
Materials
Exposed reinforced concrete forms the structural shell of the building. Glass curtain walls provide visual continuity between interior and exterior spaces, while natural stone paving integrates the project with the surrounding landscape.
